Backyard Buffer Program Open

The Maryland Forest Service is now taking reservations for 2020 for the Backyard Buffer program. Garrett County landowners who have a stream, pond or other waterway on their property may sign up to receive a packet of approximately 25 bare root tree seedlings to plant on their property! To sign up, call 301-334-3296 or email melissa.nash@maryland.gov. Reservations for trees will be taken until March 27, 2020 or until the program reaches capacity. Trees will be available for pickup in early April.
